Learn about Mr. Mollinga’s Grade 4/5 Class

The best place to get a good idea of what’s happening in our grade 4/5 class is to check out: www.ourclass.ca. There is a list of who’s in the class, the week’s spelling words, and what’s new and up and coming. Right now you can see some of the students who were in last year’s class. Students in this class for the 2011 – 2012 will be posted as soon as their parents give permission.

Ourclass.ca is also a great place to see students’ writing. Within a short period of time, students who start in September will be creating their own blogs. This is a great way to get students writing by doing something fun. There will be more about this when they have a good understanding of WordPress.

Class Lists Will Not Be Posted

On the Monday, August 29th, parents can find out whose class their child is in by coming to the school and speaking with the principal. The class lists will NOT be publically posted for everyone to see due to legal privacy concerns. This was the decision of the school district’s superintendent, Scott Benwell.

New Vice Principal

The new Vice Principal at Sunset Elementary School is Mr. Dan Baker. He comes from Alberta with his family. Teachers seemed quite impressed with his personality and skills. We would like to welcome him and his family to the Port McNeill area.

Mr. Baker will start being at Sunset in the middle of August.
