Imagine your most favourite spot in the world or a place you like to visit.
At this spot, you are waiting to leave with a group of people on a hot-air balloon. Three of you all won a trip on this balloon. As you step into the balloon with the other two people you accidentally kick the rope that was holding the balloon to the ground. It suddenly lifts off the ground without the person who was going to take the three of you on the tour.
I thought we should start a conversation to introduce our selves.
“Hi, my name is Alan, and I live in Port McNeill and I go to school at Sunset.” I said.
One of the other boys spoke and introduced himself, “Hi my name is Jon, I live in Port Hardy and I go to Eagle View School.
The other boy spoke and introduced himself. “Hi my name is Jack and I live in Campbell River and I go to Willow Point School.
The three boys shook hands. Then we started to think how to work the hot air balloon. I said “grab that rope” to Jack.
“Ok”, he said. Then we could steer the balloon.
Then we saw a box high up and it said low air and high air and we saw a perfect spot to land. So we pushed the button that said low air. Then we got lower and in about 15 minutes we landed.
We found ourselves at the bottom of a mountain and we tried to figure out where we were.
We looked around to find a good spot to sleep and then Jon found a cabin. Then we started walking to the cabin and we relied there was smoke coming from the chimney and a light was on. So I knocked on the door and a lady opened the door.
The lady said “Yes”.
“Oh thank you.” We said. Then we can get a good sleep.
We woke up and lit a fire outside so a helicopter could rescue us. A few hours later, a helicopter flew over, saw us and landed. We asked if we could go home. Then then the pilots said yes. We said thank you. We were going home.
We were in the helicopter for an hour. It was so fun. We saw a whale, some dolphins, and fishing boats.
We finally got home. Our parents asked where we were. “We got lost on a balloon. “Oh” said the parents. “Where did you land?” We started to explain that we landed at the bottom of Grouse Mountain.
“We are all safe and glad to be home”, we said.
